Oprah Once Bought a $70 Million Private Jet for This Shocking Reason!
There’s no hiding that Oprah Winfrey hails as one of the most successful and richest women in the world. With an astounding $2.5 billion net worth, it’s no surprise she can afford to buy those luxurious cars, massive mansions and vast real estate properties, private islands, and even a staggering $70,000,000 private plane! While most people are no longer surprised when Oprah spends her money splurging on these lavish stuff, she shocked her fans when the renowned TV host reveals this surprising reason why she opts to purchase her private jet.
The Reason
In an interview with Editor-in-Chief Edward Eninful of British Vogue, Oprah revealed how she had one fateful encounter at the airport that convinced her to spend a whopping $70,000,000 to have her private jet. According to her, she encountered a rude fan who commented on how she’s not acting like what she did on TV.
Oprah reveals while she’s generally warm and more open to communicating with her fans, Oprah also has her moments where the TV host wants to be left alone.
Oprah revealed how she was so shocked when the woman suddenly came and intruded her space when the TV personality was just minding her own business. She said the woman continued saying rude comments like how she often saw Oprah hugging everybody on TV. However, she was surprised to see Oprah merely sitting down, plugging her earphones on and minding her business while ignoring everybody.
The Defense
Oprah says she didn’t regret buying the plane at all because it was worth it.
Oprah recalled how she defended herself and told the woman she remains authentic to herself, regardless of what people think or say about her. While she hugs people on TV, Oprah says she doesn’t necessarily embrace people when she’s at the airport. Oprah explained how it would be rude to approach a stranger and hug them, so you got to respect their privacy.
The Upside
Despite that dreadful experience, Oprah said she was thankful it happened nonetheless as she realized she made the best decision in her life. According to her, she didn’t regret spending that huge amount back then, not when she’s now reaping the benefits of having a plane. Oprah reveals how she can now travel with ease without worrying about missing her flights at all.
Oprah says she gets to spend more time in her family, focus on her causes, or relax while boarding on her plane.
One minute Oprah goes to New York, then the next thing she knows, she’ll be traveling in London if she feels like it. Aside from that, Oprah reveals how it’s easier for her to attend business appointments, her causes, or simply traveling with her family overseas thanks to her private jet. The renowned TV host also considers her plane the greatest luxury she had.
