Here, we’ll look at the strange but interesting world of wax figures. It’s unpredictable what the result is going to be; it could be either eerily accurate or a total mess. So it’s always exciting when stars go to reveal their own wax statues.
Getting a wax figure has become a sort of rite of passage in Hollywood. It’s one of those “when you know you’ve made it” signs. It’s definitely an intricate process that can take months to complete, from taking the right measurements to finding the right clothes. So let’s feast our eyes on the reactions of these celebrities when confronted with their waxy counterparts. We’ll also tell you how much these celebs are worth now!
Taylor Swift – Est. $320 Million

This picture of Taylor Swift and her first ever wax double at the Madame Tussauds in New York City isn’t the best work of the museum chain. Taylor, who recently released the song ME!, decided to match her outfit with the figurine’s when she posed next to it at the unveiling in 2010.
But the outfit and body are good, and what is really odd about this figure is the face details which don’t really look like Tay. The golden hair is also definitely a problem since it is a completely different tone and texture from Taylor’s warm curls. Fortunately, they had more success with her other figures.
The Spice Girls – Est. $573 Million

The Spice Girls is one of the most famous girl groups in the world. So it’s no surprise that they had their own wax figures to serve as a reminder. The image shows the girls posing next to their counterpart.
This version of the girl group was at Rock Circus in London but has since its closing been relocated to Amsterdam. Each of the Spice Girls has been working on their solo careers since the group split. The most famous one of the bunch is Victoria “Posh” Spice, who’s the one doing the best both in personal finances and career. She has multiple endorsements and her own clothing line at Target.
Stephen Curry – Est. $77 Million

The first thing the NBA superstar Stephen Curry did when he unveiled his wax figurine in San Francisco was to take a selfie with it on his phone. Curry is currently the highest paid basketball player in the NBA and was honored with his figure in 2016.
Stephen, who then posed with all of his family (including his two adorable children) for the press with his wax doppelganger, said he was impressed at all the little details of the sculpture like some scars he had on his arm and even his freckles.
Kylie Minogue – Est. $90 Million

Kylie Minogue got her fourth waxwork at the London’s Madame Tussauds. Kylie, who released her most recent album Golden in 2018, was happily posing with her figure which was surrounded by quite the jolly setup.
The singer’s wax figure featured her clad in a beautiful red dress sitting on top of Christmas presents. Kylie matched the dress only in color, opting for a velvet ensemble with a black bow. The real Kylie looked completely delighted as she asked if she could touch it and posed cozily with her replica for the press.
Sofia Vergara – Est. $160 Million

Sofia Vergara not only received one wax replica of herself but she got two. She excitedly attended the big reveal of both her Las Vegas and New York figures. One was clad in one of her looks from the Golden Globes and the other (the one we see in the picture) donned the outfit from Modern Family’s promo pictures.
Vergara, who worked in the 2019 film Bottom of the 9th, showed an ear to ear smile as she posed with them and thanked Madame Tussauds later over a series of Tweets with infinite words of appreciation for the honor.
Queen Elizabeth – Est. $520 Million

Can you actually tell which one is real and which one isn’t? Madame Tussauds in London has the biggest amount of figures of Queen Elizabeth II than any other location. The Queen actually has a staggering quantity of 23 waxworks in her honor.
The last one was created and unveiled to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee. Queen Elizabeth, despite never making comments on the works, has a close relationship with the museum. The monarch, who turned 93 in 2019, is still in good health and active as she is said to still ride her horses. God save the Queen!
Kate Middleton & Prince William – Est. $45 Million

The Madame Tussauds in London naturally also has wax figures of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. They were unveiled in 2012 and were molded after their engagement announcement in November 2010. The Duke and Duchess got married in April 2011.
Like we’ve already mentioned, royals normally do not visit their replicas or issue comments about works made of them. But as their youngest and third son, Prince Louis, is barely one year old, we understand why they must be very busy between parenting and official duties to pay much attention.
Ryan Reynolds – Est. $75 Million

Madame Tussauds gave a really cool gift to Ryan Reynolds on his 37th birthday in 2013. Most of us would receive a cake, some congratulations, and cards on our special day, but if you’re a famous movie star, you get a figure of yourself in wax.
Blake Lively’s hubby Ryan was completely thrilled to be immortalized in such a way and even posed side by side with his counterpart while wearing very similar clothing and hairstyle. Reynolds, who premiered his movie Detective Pikachu in May 2019, showed off his comedy streak while getting cozy with the sculpture.
Betty White – Est. $75 Million

Betty White is always a joy to watch. White, who is the female actress and comedian with the longest career in Hollywood (her career started in 1939), was completely delighted to be honored with this replica.
The funny lady did what she did best and had everybody at the unveiling laughing their heads off with her jokes. She posed with her double clad in a similar fashion to the waxwork with a pink shirt and even playfully kissed it. Betty will surely make us laugh too in her upcoming film Toy Story 4 where she’ll voice one of the characters.
Dwayne Johnson – Est. $280 Million

Dwayne Johnson is an actor who entered the entertainment industry by unconventional means. He actually started as a wrestler from the WWF. Eventually, he scored a movie role and has since been one of the biggest action movie stars of our generation.
Here we see an early depiction of Dwayne in 2002 at the New York’s Madame Tussauds when he was still known as the wrestler “The Rock,” in his wrestler attire with flashy jewelry. Dwayne, who will star in the upcoming Jumanji 3, raises an eyebrow in the photo to match his wax double’s expression.
Naomi Campbell – Est. $60 Million

When you are Naomi Campbell, one of the most famous models in the world, your wax likeness gets to wear Versace. This photo is giving us retro vibes as the figure is wearing one of the dresses that Campbell flaunted on the runway for the Italian brand.
Naomi, who’s been dabbling in acting for quite a few years now, and has, since 2017, been doing a recurring role on the TV series Star, looks pleased alright. Reporters saw her smile as they took pictures with her extremely accurate figurine in 1996 at the London’s Madame Tussauds.
Justin Bieber – Est. $285 Million

Now, to keep the nostalgia going, we have here this picture of a 17-year-old Justin Bieber still on his Baby phase at the unveiling of his wax figure at London. Justin is not that innocent little boy anymore but he’s still getting new renditions in wax of himself.
Justin recently came out of his self-imposed hiatus and announced at 2019’s Coachella that his fifth studio album would be released soon. He also has, at the moment, 11 wax figures, and the latest one was revealed in 2017 at Orlando. He made Hailey Baldwin his bride in 2018.
Ed Sheeran – Est. $110 Million

This one’s gotten us into thinking that we’re seeing double. This is the eerily accurate replica of British singer Ed Sheeran. The singer posed with his counterpart who was wearing his iconic flannel shirt, having identical tattoos, and playing his trusty guitar.
Ed, who’s currently on his ÷ Tour until August 2019, seemed to have had a lot of fun at the unveiling of his figure in London at the Madame Tussauds Museum. He hugged it, touched it, and even took a selfie with his phone. This is Ed’s second figurine as he already has one in New York City.
Helen Mirren – Est. $50 Million

Dame Helen Mirren caused stood out at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet when she appeared donning a beautiful sequin dress, sparkling earrings, and as a final touch – light pink tresses. She is indeed one of the most glamorous golden actresses of Hollywood.
So naturally, her waxy doppelganger has to exhibit the same grace and poise as she frequently does. Well, we have to say the sculptors nailed it, as the figure looks fab from head to toe, even compared with the real Helen as they stood next to each other.
Justin Timberlake – Est. $230 Million

Here, we have singer Justin Timberlake as he poses with his wax counterpart at the unveiling of the NSYNC figures in New York City. It’s been a while since his boyband days but he’s still as relevant as ever.
He looks happy as he flashes a big grin next to his figure at the event (though his counterpart doesn’t show any teeth). Something brighter than that expression on his face? His future. He keeps on being one of the greatest pop stars in the world and he is a recipient of the Contemporary Icon Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 50th-anniversary gala in June 2019 in the Big Apple.
Sam Smith – Est. $25 Million

British singer Sam Smith is one of those celebrities that get a little bit too excited when they receive their waxwork. The singer was very pleased with the wax figure clad in fancy clothes holding the mic – so pleased that he almost licked the thing!
Smith, whose new song featuring singer Normani is called Dancing With a Stranger, stated after posing with the figurine that he really liked it, even if it felt a bit weird at something that looked exactly like him. He also said that now, he felt like he had made it.
Demi Lovato – Est $33 Million

Caught in the middle of a selfie with her wax likeness is singer Demi Lovato. She received the figure as the coolest gift ever for her 23rd birthday in 2015.
The figure is sporting a rock star-worthy outfit made out of leather and even has the signature blue fade in the hair. Demi had worn that blue streak in the past. Her last album was Tell Me You Love Me in 2017. But she got featured recently in one of Luis Fonsi’s songs Echame La Culpa where she showed off her bilingual skills.
Mike Tyson – Est. $3 Million

This is another extremely realistic one, so much that when Mike Tyson stood next to the figure, we had to do a double take. The figure was modeled after Tyson’s role in the film The Hangover where he played himself and wore his favorite clothes.
Mike, who rose to fame as a professional boxer, hasn’t stepped in the ring in over a decade. But he has found mild success in the acting industry mainly playing himself in movies or TV shows. His latest appearance was in the 2019 comedy film Reality Queen!
Steve Wozniak – Est. $100 Million

Apple co-creator Steve Wozniak pranked everybody in the room when they unveiled his waxwork at the Silicon Valley Comic-Con. When the curtain fell to reveal the figure, Wozniak was standing in the same position as his double wearing the same clothes and holding his breath as much as he could.
The presenter joked and pretended he was not able to tell them apart. To be honest, they did look extremely similar, and from a distance, were almost identical. Steve, who is also the founder of the Silicon Valley comic-con, got more than a few laughs out of the audience that day.
Conchita Wurst – Est. $3 Million

Austrian singer Conchita Wurst was absolutely amazed at her waxwork at the unveiling in her native Vienna. Conchita revealed that the measuring process took several hours but it was still beyond her how a bunch of numbers could turn into a life-size version of her.
Conchita gained international fame after competing in the Eurovision Song Contest. Her figurine was clad in her Eurovision finale sparkly golden dress; while Conchita herself donned a very fashion-forward black understated attire. Wurst’s upcoming album Truth Over Magnitude is set to be released in autumn 2019.
Jason Derulo – Est. $10 Million

When singer-songwriter Jason Derulo was approached to have his figure made by Madame Tussauds, he was concerned about one thing in particular – his hair.
Jason explained to the press that his hair was much shorter at the time so the artists had to predict his hair growth to match the length at the time of the reveal. Derulo, who recently was featured in the song Women by Florida Georgia Line, admitted that they did a fantastic job at making his replica and even struck the same dynamic pose his wax double had.
Cristiano Ronaldo – Est. $450 Million

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most famous soccer players in the world. He has played for a few of the most renowned teams of the said sport, including Manchester United and Real Madrid. Also, he recently became the first and only player to become champion on three of the most important leagues of Europe.
So it’s doesn’t come as a shock to learn that he, too, has been honored with his own wax replica at the Madame Tussauds museum. What might be interesting is that it’s said that Ronaldo has paid the original artist a considerable amount of money to commission another waxwork for his own home.
Bradley Cooper – Est. $100 Million

We’re not sure about this one, but we can’t seem to pinpoint the exact reason why. Bradley Cooper seems content with his wax figure as he poses next to it at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The figure looks similar enough to know that it is Bradley but there’s just something weird about the face – it may be the smile or the beard. Anyway, we’re sure we’ll forget all about it when we see the new upcoming film he’s producing, Joker. It’s a psychological thriller based on the iconic but terrifying villain from DC Comics.
Hugh Bonneville – Est. $8 Million

Beloved actor Hugh Bonneville, known for his role of Lord Grantham in the famous historical drama Downton Abbey, finally came face to face with his wax likeness. The figure is dressed just as dashing as always with a black tux and shiny matching shoes.
Hugh, who is set to reprise his role in the upcoming film Downton Abbey (that’s a continuation of the series), was taken aback at the impressive similarity of the figure. He even said it was a bit spooky to look at himself like that as he praised the fact that the details were scarily accurate.
Fergie – Est. $45 Million

Singer Fergie was over the moon with excitement at the unveiling of her wax figure in Las Vegas. Fergie smiled and ran to pose arm in arm in front of the press with her doppelganger who wore an incredible white and silver suit.
Fergie even took the time to admire the details of the work and caress the figure’s blonde locks. Fergie filed for divorce on May 31, 2019, from actor Josh Duhamel, two years after they announced their separation. The couple remains close though, as they co-parent their son Axl.
Paris Hilton – Est. $300 Million

Socialite Paris Hilton is seen here attending the unveiling of her wax replica in 2005 at the Madame Tussauds in New York City. The figure is modeled after Paris’ role in the horror film, House Of Wax.
The resemblance is hard to deny as Paris stood next to it for the cameras, dressed with a pink top and white pants. Hilton currently performs at parties as a DJ. She recently released her song’s B.F.A music video in which Paris’ former BFF Kim Kardashian makes an appearance. Maybe they’ve finally worked things out!
Olivia Newton-John – Est. $40 Million

English-Australian actress and singer Olivia Newton-John beamed at the press when she encountered her wax figure modeled after the famous role of Sandy that catapulted her to fame in the ‘80s musical, Grease.
The accuracy of the figurine was such that it seemed like she had traveled through time to the past and was hanging out with her old self. Olivia has been living a quiet life for a few years but recently opened up about her career, her life, and her cancer battle in her memoir, Don’t Stop Believin’.
Ricky Martin – Est. $60 Million

Pop star Ricky Martin has been a Latin music legend for more than two decades. So it was long due for him to receive recognition for having achieved this milestone in his career. And what better way to do that than with a copy of himself?
Ricky attended the unveiling of his wax figure in Las Vegas where he excitedly smiled for the press next to the figure and explained how much he loved the whole process. He praised the amount of work the artists went through to ensure authenticity and allegedly helped choose the clothes for his doppelganger. Ricky is currently working as a coach in the Italian talent show, Amici di Maria de Filippi.
Luke Bryan – Est. $160 Million

When country singer Luke Bryan received a call from Madame Tussauds about getting a wax figure, he was more than excited. He admitted he found the whole process very interesting when he was nterviewed during the reveal of his waxwork.
The wax figure, who had the same perfect smile as he did, seemed pretty convincing as Luke walked around it to be able to look at the details from every angle. Luke is currently on his Sunset Repeat Tour 2019 in summer where he is playing at all the major cities in the US.
Céline Dion – Est. $800 Million

French-Canadian treasure Céline Dion is one of those big celebrities who have not only one, but several wax figures, by different museums. This one is by the Grevin Wax Museum in Paris. Céline posed alongside her waxy twin (their tresses looked truly identical) and even replicated the pose for the cameras.
Céline just said goodbye to her Las Vegas residency, where she debuted a new song titled Flying On My Own. Joined by her sons, she also paid tribute to her late husband René Angélil on her last show at the venue.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle – Est. $30 Million

The Madame Tussauds at London unveiled a new wax figure of Duchess Meghan in preparation for her marriage to Prince Harry in May 2018. The figure was of Meghan’s and Harry’s engagement announcement where the Duchess wore a green outfit.
Harry had already received his own figurine but the sculpture got updated and was altered to sport the current Prince’s beard, to match with his look for the ceremony. Now that this popular royal couple has welcomed their first-born Archie in May 2019, maybe he will also have one in the future.
Kendall Jenner – Est. $30 Million

Kendall Jenner is only 23 years old, but she’s been named the highest paid model in the world for the second time in a row. She owes her fame to her family’s show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which completely launched her modeling career.
Kendall, who will soon launch her collaboration with her sister Kylie for her line Kylie Cosmetics, was thrilled to see her figure and struck a few funny poses with the figurine. The figure is a nod to her backstage look in the Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show in 2015.
Michael Strahan & Kelly Ripa – Est. $65 Million & $100 Million

When hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan from the Live with Kelly And Michael show got their wax figures, they immediately posed alongside the sculptures and it was kind of difficult to tell them apart. Michael got his figure more recently, and he was very excited.
Michael, since his retirement from the NFL in 2007, has turned to TV hosting. He was very honored to see his wax figurine for the first time. Well, it looked so real that if it weren’t for their different outfits, we would think there were two Michaels in the studio!
