His Spot Was Stolen

Tom had already been patient enough to wait for a chance to get a parking spot. And after it seemed to have paid off, the spot that freed up became quickly occupied by another car that cut him off and stole the spot.

Tom and his family were in utter shock but the women who stepped out of the other vehicle did not even acknowledge the rudeness of their actions and simply strutted into the diner as if nothing had happened. You can already guess that Tom must have been furious.

Caught By Surprise

Tom had no words. He was utterly shocked by the actions of those girls who exited the vehicle in a noisy chatter. He was severely unhappy with the event that just unfolded, especially because he had gone through the trouble of waiting for a free spot.

Spoken or unspoken, it’s well known that parking in situations like that should be carried out based on the order of arrival, to be fair. But these women showed no sign of remorse or willingness to do things the proper way. Perhaps the only acceptable explanation is that they were not aware of what they did.

Adding Insult To Injury

Of course, even if they weren’t aware of their offense, Tom went to confront them about their actions. But to his surprise again, the driver did not apologize, instead, she made it seem like he was just unlucky with getting to the parking spot.

Imagine adding insult to injury. Anyone in Tom’s position would be justified in lashing out at the girls but the plan was to spend an enjoyable evening with his family. His patience was being severely tested but he wasn’t at his limit, at least not yet.

Difficulty With Parking

Tom wasn’t expecting anything to go wrong at Applebee’s. The dining spot is one of the top choices for many Americans and, as such, he decided it was a great spot for an outing with his family, and everyone was excited to be there.

But he met a challenge finding a parking spot as the diner was full of guests who had occupied the available spots. Determined not to give up on this rare opportunity to spend some time with his family, he waited and eventually got a spot after one customer had left.

Going Ahead With The Evening

Determined not to let the events at the parking lot deter him, Tom did his best to make the most of the evening with his family. The girls weren’t worth it, he must have mused, but his choice to maintain his cool didn’t mean he had forgotten about their rude behavior.

He knew that soon enough, he was going to get his chance to settle the score with them, and unknown to everyone, Tom had devised a sinister plan to get back at the girls for being so rude to him and spoiling his evening.

Two Heads Are Better Than One

Tom could have simply chosen to let it go, but this particular day wasn’t a day he wanted to take the high road, and he began to make his move to get his revenge. His eyes remained peeled on the girls whom he saw getting drunk and he decided to enlist the help of the waiter in going about his plan.

With a $20 bill in hand, he waited to get the attention of the waiter and divulged his sinister plan to him hoping he would be willing to help with getting back at those girls. And with the incentive he offered, the waiter was game.

A Cooperative Waiter

Although Tom offered the waiter $20, that wasn’t the only reason he agreed to his plan. The waiter, like everyone else in the diner, could attest to the fact that the girls were pretty loud and ill-mannered, so he was actually happy to help Tom put his plan together.

After accepting the money from Tom, the waiter’s curiosity spiked and he was excited to learn what the plan was and how he was to get involved. There was no way he could have been prepared for what Tom told him.

The Plan To Send A Message

Tom disclosed his plan to the waiter and told him to get to work on it ten minutes after he had left with his family. You must be wondering why his plan had this instruction, but it was that way because it needed to be believable. He wanted to make sure the girls remembered the event that happened in the parking lot earlier.

He asked the waiter to tell the girls that he received a call from an angry customer who left a message saying their car had been keyed because they had refused to park somewhere else. Now the ten-minute delay after leaving that he requested was clear…

Accepting The Plan

The plan seemed pretty solid to the waiter and he wasted no time in agreeing to it. Of course, when someone has wronged you the way Tom felt wronged by those rude girls, it’s natural to want to get back at them, and even more understandable that you’d want to be there to exact your revenge.

This is why Tom had a mind to stick around to watch the scene of his plan unfold, but he realized it was not a very smart decision and decided to just let it happen in his absence. He remained curious as to how the news was received.

An Unexpected Outcome

Tom was no doubt unhappy about how the girls ruined his evening but it wasn’t up to the point that he wished them something really bad. But his plan to teach them a lesson may have worked a bit too well and the lesson became a truly unforgettable one.

After he had arrived home with his family, he couldn’t resist the urge to call the waiter to spill the beans about what happened. His call with the waiter then revealed that the girls reacted in a way he would never have guessed.

Causing A Big Scene

One might have been able to guess that the girls, who had been drinking heavily that night, would overreact after hearing the news. The already loud girls became even noisier and caused a huge scene at the restaurant and captured everyone’s attention.

Even if that was anticipated, no one expected that they would call the police. Things were now getting out of hand. After the police arrived, they took a look at the vehicle that was reportedly keyed and couldn’t find as much as a little scratch on it. The police then returned to own their vehicle but the girls had already left a bad impression.

The Police Get Involved

Now thinking about it, if the girls were in a clear state of mind, they would have understood the predicament they had already put themselves in. They had called the police for a situation that turned out to be a false alarm and they were noticeably drunk.

After the eating and drinking were over, they left the restaurant and planned to return home. The unsuspecting girls had no idea that the police were still nearby, but as soon as the driver got the engine started, they quickly stepped in. They already suspected that the girls would not be fit to drive.

Getting Arrested

It’s hard to say if Tom would have been worried about this turn of events or would have felt it served the girls right. But if you didn’t believe in karma before, this would certainly make you a believer. Maybe justice had been served for Tom as it seemed that the girls were going to get arrested.

In the end, it was their behavior that brought all this upon them, starting with their rudeness in the parking lot to their behavior at the diner. They involved the police by themselves and set the stage for their predicament.

Unfit To Drive

It was a shocking experience seeing the women get arrested, as no one expected that things would culminate in this way. The police also got a sense of their rudeness after they didn’t find anything to support the girls’ claims for calling them.

Being visibly intoxicated as they were, the cops could have taken them in on grounds of public intoxication from the get-go, but despite their behavior, the cops remained calm throughout and simply waited for them to exit the diner. It would have been a disaster to allow those girls to drive.

Additional Pay For The Waiter

On the other hand, the waiter who became instrumental in Tom’s plan reaped the fruits of his incredible work and made an easy $40 in the end. This was because Tom returned to the diner another time and gifted him an extra $20.

The entire event was nothing anyone could have expected but the waiter deserved his extra pay because the girls undoubtedly got more than what they deserved. But who’s to say whether they deserved it or not? Some sentiments from those who later heard the story claim that Tom had taken it too far. Do you think so too?

Whose Fault Was It?

Whether or not they deserved what came to them, we can’t really blame it on Tom because he didn’t plan for it to go as far as it did, and the cops wouldn’t have been there if the girls hadn’t called them. So, in a sense, they brought it upon themselves.

In fact, they made so many wrong decisions in one day, including the one that directly got them arrested. What were they really thinking going ahead to drive as drunk as they were? Even if not for themselves, the safety of others on the road was important.

Cops Made The Right Decision

We should probably even give the cops credit for staying back on the scene after seeing how drunk the girls were. It may have not been so much a trap as it was a sincere worry that those girls would take to the streets in the condition that they were in.

There are so many accidents that have been a result of drunk driving, and it was for the best that the cops intervened when they did. Tom would probably be excited to know he killed two birds with one stone.

The Consequences

As the women were arrested, the charge brought against them was basically a DUI. Driving under the influence of alcohol is a crime in the United States and many other parts of the world because of the risk it poses to others other than oneself.

The penalty is never so strict however because, instead of jail time, most first offenders get away with an informal probation or community service. But probation can last up to three years, and the crime stays on your driving record for up to ten years.

Going Viral

The story of what transpired at Applebee’s gained popularity but people found it hard to believe because of its sheer incredulity. Maybe karma is never so swift in reality, but we have to ask ourselves some important questions if we agree the story could be untrue.

What would be the reason for Tom to cook up this story in the first place? Other than the fact that there is a moral lesson to be learned about how actions have consequences, there isn’t much else about the story that seems like it was pulled out of thin air. It seems to be something that could only be reported because it was experienced.

A Silver Lining

Something pretty amazing about the entire story is that the identity of the girls never became public. They could be any bunch of girls you see out there and it’s a lucky break for them to not have to deal with the publicity of their story in addition to the unfortunate outcome.

They have no name that they can be identified with, there are no pictures of them on the internet, and even their location is not available. That’s a win for them at least amid the big loss that befell them on that day

Moral Lessons

In the end, there’s a moral or two to a story like this, and it’s safe to assume that they are pretty obvious. For one, there’s no value in judging people around us. The most presumptuous thing to do is assume you have a better status than a fellow human being.

No matter how much you may feel on top of the world, the reality is that anyone can be in any position at any time. And there’s no saying who the person will be that helps you at the point you’ll need that help. But there’s more to be learned…

Here we have another story, this one involves a man who was already having a really rough day trying to figure out a way around a particular problem. As if his problem wasn’t enough for him to deal with, a woman chose to compound it with her behavior. Let’s find out how this one went down.

Needing The Parking Spot

Jim, just like Tom, was only interested in going about his business for the day. With a tight and busy schedule to stick to, he only hoped to deliver the materials he was expected to, and move on. After arriving at the spot, he noticed there was someone parked in the way of him making the delivery.

Lucky for him, the woman who parked there was still in the car, so he simply politely asked her to move. Simple enough, right? One would have assumed so. But the woman was quick to refuse to do so.

A Surprising Refusal

That was the beginning of the issue. Why couldn’t she simply move her car? Jim had every right to request her to do so because he was the foreman at that construction site. He knew exactly what he needed to do and it involved her getting out of the way but he was surprised at her refusal.

As expected, he grew a bit annoyed because the situation was already looking to be a waste of his time. He never imagined that a simple day that started with a nice cup of coffee and his favorite music would have such a twist to it.

Not In The Best Position

Her refusal to move made the matter complex because there wasn’t an easier option to deliver the materials. The road he was on only gave one-way access and to make matters worse, the road was also inclined. With the heavy construction materials he carried, being on that inclined road was not the best idea.

Jim had already struggled through the 250-foot road with an inclined topography. It wasn’t a feat that just anyone could pull off but he had done it, he was already at the drop-off, but this woman seemed determined to frustrate him.

Safety Concerns

Just picture a delivery truck carrying heavy materials and you may get the sense of why Jim was in a challenging predicament. Generally, trucks like that need to be able to park in a foothill spot because of some safety concerns.

For one, the truck would be firm and unable to easily move despite the weight of the materials in it. If this is not the case, the truck could move downhill without a driver and cause an accident. We guess the woman had never done a truck driving job before, so she may not have known how important it was for Jim to park there.

Wouldn’t Move

Nonetheless, two factors put this woman in the wrong. Not only was she parked in a “No Parking” area, but she also didn’t need the spot since she could park anywhere else. No matter what she needed to do in that area, it would have cost her nothing to give the truck that space.

But she remained adamant about it and refused to move. And it’s hard to understand why she chose to be so difficult, especially when moving away from that spot was not so big of a deal. The truck won’t be there forever.

Rules With Clauses

Granted, even though the area was a “No Parking” zone, it’s not necessarily a big deal for her to park there. If there was no delivery happening at the site, there would be no reason why she couldn’t park in that spot. But with the truck carrying construction materials, the right thing to do would be to give the space to the truck.

The woman who had refused to move right from the start was also aware that it wasn’t a problem for her to park there unless she was staying too long. But we don’t think she knew that the rule has a clause that gives construction trucks preference.

Waiting For Her Kid

Here’s where things get even more interesting. You must have been wondering why this woman was even parked in that place, to begin with. If she had any business there, she should have stepped out of her car to attend to it.

Seeing her remain in the vehicle gave Jim the impression that she was waiting for somebody. And he was right. It turned out that the person she was waiting for was her child who was in school. She didn’t even know when the child would finally be allowed off the school premises.

Delivery Taking Too Long

Since she didn’t even know when her child would come, then it was completely unreasonable to occupy that parking spot, especially when a delivery truck needed it. This deliberate act of not caring what the delivery truck driver was going through was unfair.

Those working on the site had been expecting the delivery from Jim, and the woman was only slowing down the work that needed to be done because of her stubbornness. Jim was not the type to be late, so the foreman working on-site already believed that something was wrong.

Not Budging

Jim was still willing to try and reason with this woman. Perhaps she didn’t fully understand how important the situation was so he did his best to get her attention again because, at this point, she was already ignoring him.

She eventually rolled her window down to hear what he had to say, but the request wasn’t any different from what he had been asking since the beginning. He still needed her to move her vehicle, so he politely asked again. Unfortunately, the woman’s mind was made up and she refused to give him the parking spot.

Remaining Patient

At this point, it was becoming clear to the foreman that the woman was not someone that could be reasoned with. He had been asking as politely as he could even though his time was being wasted. But his respectful gesture was not appreciated or reciprocated.

Similar to the previous story, it was the woman’s disrespectful tone and attitude that Jim couldn’t wrap his head around. She visibly showed disregard for him and even rolled her eyes as he spoke. She didn’t even deem it fit to show the foreman some respect. Anyone in Jim’s position would have lost their patience but he wasn’t there yet.

An Ill-Tempered Woman

Whether or not she was listening, the foreman went over the explanation once more to this woman about why the delivery truck needed the parking space. He tried being diplomatic and even offered to get the truck out of the parking space as soon as he had made the delivery.

He began to notice that the woman was getting angry with him as he explained away, but he felt it was necessary to keep at it since his job needed to be done. His words were wasted on the woman who now picked up her mobile phone as if she was receiving a call.

Getting Serious

The foreman who was on site waiting for the delivery eventually came to find out what the trouble was all about but he noticed the woman parked in the spot was on the phone and decided to wait for her to finish before making his case.

It became obvious to him later that the woman had seen him approaching and refused to put her phone down deliberately as a way of avoiding being confronted. He eventually got his chance to speak with her but she was ignoring him, and that’s when he decided to get serious.

No Headway

He began talking in a more serious tone, letting her know what the law stipulates about situations like this. He even took the time to explain to her that it wasn’t also safe for her to be in that spot with the truck on a one-way access road that was inclined. He remained as civil as possible.

He let her know that confronting her was not a form of intimidation, just in case she had been defensive because she felt she was being intimidated by the men. Apparently, the foreman that came from the construction site met the same fate as Jim. There was no headway with this woman.

Flaring Up

The woman flared up even more and raised her voice at the men who had been civil all along. It was at this point that the men gave up and decided they were going to teach this woman a lesson because her anger had no basis.

If anything, they were the ones entitled to be angry because she had wasted their time in addition to being so rude and unreasonable with them from the very beginning. They quickly devised a plan to make sure the woman learned a valuable lesson and they began to put it into motion.

Boxing Her In

They devised a simple plan to box the woman in and leave no room for her to be able to move out of that parking spot. Since words were not getting through to her, perhaps they needed to take drastic actions.

They set the plan up and boxed her in. Her vehicle was now in between different other vehicles, and the delivery truck was parked just beside her leaving no room for her to go. She had chosen to ignore the men so she was trying not to meet their eyes, but she soon realized what was happening.

No Way To Escape

The woman eventually understood what had happened, but it was too late by that time. Although their plan meant that Jim would be illegally parked on the road, so, to avoid being in the wrong, they called the police. They felt that the matter was already out of their control and they needed to involve the authorities.

The only way for the woman to have gotten out of that spot was to seek help from Jim and the other foreman. But with the way she had treated them, she already suspected that there was no way they would do it.

Learning The Hard Way

From the very beginning, it was clear that Jim had only wanted to reason with this woman but her stubbornness and impoliteness made them resort to teaching her a lesson about life. They weren’t trying to get her in trouble though, but she eventually got more than what was bargained.

On seeing the police arrive at the scene, the woman knew she was in trouble and began to panic. She ended up getting a reprimand from the men in uniform. Eventually, she moved her car from the spot but she wouldn’t have gotten into trouble had she been cooperative from the start. Hopefully, this teaches her a valuable lesson.
