The 2019 Pro Bowl was held on January 27, 2019, featuring all the best players of the 2018 NFL season. In fact, half of these players were playing for the first time for the All-star team, which made it more exciting for football fans. As a matter of fact, in the 11 Pro Bowl games played, underdogs won seven of them. Tom Brady, 41 – Quarterback
Tom Brady has been playing for the NFL since 2000 and there’s no stopping the 41-year-old player as he will still appear in the 2019 NFL season. In 2017 alone, he was able to bring home his third MVP trophy and he has been present in eight Super Bowl. Seeming not going into retirement anytime soon, Tom is seen by many as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Of course, we still couldn’t forget the highly publicized “Deflategate” football tampering controversy which got him suspended for four games in 2016. However, he made a good comeback in 2018 when he led the Patriots on a 75-yard drive that resulted in a game win.

Antonio Brown, 30 – Wide Receiver
When the Steelers started to award team MVP back in 1969, Antonio Brown has managed to break the record after winning more than once. However, Brown suffered from a rough season in 2012 after he was fined $10K for being unsportsmanlike, at the same time, he sustained an ankle sprain which required medical treatment. He came back with a good record in the 2017 season, as he was named as the second best player and became the best wide receiver of the NFL Top 100 players of 2018. In February 2017, the Steelers gave him a chance to sign a five-year contract deal which will end in 2021.

Le’Veon Bell, 26 – Running Back
Le’Veon Bell might be young but he has impressive record-breaking skills. In fact, he has led the AFC to a new record, setting the franchise record for running back that complements his 1,291 rushing yard. Le’Veon has been playing football since his middle-school years and when he finally moved to the collegiate level, he played for Michigan State University. Until now, he hasn’t failed in his record-breaking skills, and he even made it to the 16th spot of NFL’s top 100 players of 2015. However, he was suspended in 2016 for substance dependence. The Steelers offered him a $14.5-million contract in 2018 but Bell refused to sign it.

Aaron Donald, 27 – Defensive End
We’ll see more of defensive end Aaron Donald after the Rams team has offered a six-year extension to his contract. Donald is the first team member of the Rams to win the NFL Defensive Player of the Year honor in 2017. Ever since he started playing his first game as Pro, he has been considered an impact player. In his career as a pro, he has sacked a total of 23 quarterbacks, including Hall of Famer Peyton Manning. He also owns the Lombardi Award, The Bronko Nagurski Trophy, The Chuck Bednarik award, and he’s never missed a Pro Bowl! Most of his fans are simply amazed by his fitness!

Luke Kuechly, 27 – Middle LineBacker
After suffering from a concussion that required immediate treatment in 2016, Luke Kuechly had to miss six games. The middle linebacker wasted no time to regain himself as the best MLP of the NFL. In 2017, he was named as the NFL’s Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award winner. Kuechly is another award-winning player of the league, and in 2013 alone, he was the youngest receiver of the AP NFL Defensive Player of The Year award. If you aren’t confident enough with his skill set, he was named in his fifth straight Pro Bowl in December 2017. The Carolina Panthers also converted his $6.8-million contract into a signing bonus in 2018.

Patrick Peterson, 28 – Cornerback
Patrick Peterson is a 28-year-old cornerback playing for the Arizona Cardinals and every season, he gets invited to play for the Pro Bowl. Peterson is the first out of four players to get selected for seven Pro Bowls. Before he made his way into the Pro Bowl, he finished the 2018 season with 54 tackles, two interceptions, and five deflections. Peterson also made history after he made a record of the most punt returns in the 2011 season. Peterson even credits his fortune to his career – he has earnings of $70 million for a five-year contract.

Rob Gronkowski, 29 – Tight End
Known to most as Gronk, Rob Gronkowski plays as the tight end of the New England Patriots. He is famous for setting a single season with a record of 17 touchdowns and 1,327 yards in 2011. In his entire career, he was able to achieve five Pro Bowls and five All-pro selection. Despite rumors about his retirement planning, he confirmed that he would still appear in the 2018 season. However, his production in the 2018 season was a bit limited, with only 22 receptions for 325 yards and no touchdowns, but he managed to make a touchdown in Week 12 against the New York Jets.

Travis Frederick, 27 – Center
When Travis Frederick joined the 2013 first-round pick, he hasn’t since missed a snap. He plays as the center for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL. Frederick has been considered as the best center in football, unfortunately, the doctors diagnosed him with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a disorder that attacks the nervous system. While he won’t be returning for the team’s stretch run soon, he is still looking forward to an impressive comeback in 2019. However, the unpredictability of the disorder could take him longer to get back on the field and many fans are eager to see him back.

Julio Jones, 29 – Wide Receiver
Julio Jones garnered international fame as the wide receiver of the Atlanta Falcons. We’re still wondering what his workout routines consist of, as he has impressive strength, control, and catching and leaping abilities. Jones has also been named second-team All-pro twice, once in 2017 and in 2018. However, his touchdowns in the 2018 season were a bit unimpressive, but nothing that Steve Sarkisian couldn’t fix. Still, Jones finished the season by being the only player averaging with more than 100 receiving yards per game. In 2018, he became the fastest player in the NFL history to reach 10,000 yards and the one with the highest average (96.7) receiving yards per game in history.

Zack Martin, 28 – Offensive Guard
Zack Martin could be the best player of the Dallas Cowboys after he managed to avoid committing penalties and to have just one sack in a game. The Cowboys paid his effort back by giving him a six-year contract extension worth $84-million, where $40 million would be guaranteed, and with a signing bonus amounting to $20 million. Martin has a good record over the years, and in 2017, he was named for his fourth Pro Bowl. When the 2018 season started, Martin suffered a knee injury and had to be taken to the hospital for immediate care.

Harrison Smith, 29 – Free Safety
Harrison Smith is considered NFL’s best all-around safety with his size and range, and he currently plays for the Minnesota Vikings. When he was just a newbie, Smith proved to be a temperamental player after he was thrown out of the game for arguing with an official which, fortunately, ended up in a settlement. Still, he proved his talents with The Pro Football Focus naming him as the best player of the NFL in 2017. A year after in 2018, he was named for his third straight Pro Bowl and became first team All-Pro. The season started well during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles when Smith helped lead the Vikings to victory in week five.

Geno Atkins, 30 – Defensive Tackle
In the span of his eight-year career, Geno Atkins has managed to lead all defensive tackles in sacks for the fifth time. Atkins also made it twice to the First Team All-Pro and is now a 7-time Pro Bowler. His career and bank account have grown rapidly together over the years. In fact, in 2018, he was offered a contract worth $65.3 million that would extend his stay with the Bengals. Many people didn’t expect this impressive skill from him since he was a track & field competitor back in school. However, it only proves that Atkins is quite versatile and competitive at any sport.

David Bakhtiari, 27 – Offensive Tackle
Back in 2013, David Bakhtiari exhibited his ninth tackle which turned out to be the best in his class and later earned him his first Pro Bowl in 2017. Before he earned his first Pro Bowl, the Green Bay Packers offered him a contract extension worth $48 million, which included a $16.7-million guaranteed pay and a $15-million signing bonus. David also climbed up to 91 in the NFL’s Top 100 Player of 2018. However, aside from his football career, his philanthropic endeavors are worth mentioning. During his teenage years in school, he created the ‘Fund A Dream Scholarship’ and signed autographs in exchange for donations that would benefit cancer research.

DeAndre Hopkins, 26 – Wide Receiver
Most known as Nuk, DeAndre Hopkins has done quite a work over the previous seasons. Hopkins plays as a quarterback for the Houston Texas and over the previous seasons, he has done impressive work with less effort. In the 2018 season, he did an impressive 96 catches with a total of 1,378 yards and 13 touchdowns. At the same time, it was a great year for his personal finances since he was offered a contract extension worth $81 million, composed of a guaranteed $49-million and $ 7.56-million signing bonus. In the 2018 season, he was named for his third Pro Bowl and second straight first-team All-Pro.

After finishing his college degree, Von Miller was immediately drafted at the 2011 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos due to his outstanding potential. Despite still being in his rookie year, he received his first-team All-Pro honors, now making him a seven-time Pro Bowl player. When the Denver Broncos played in the Super Bowl 50, Von was named the Super Bowl MVP after defeating the Carolina Panthers. In 2018, Von earned his 100th career sack which made him the 5th-fastest player to ever reach it.

Calais Campbell, 32 – Defensive End
When Calais Campbell started his career at an early age, he did not go straight to football, instead, he was a star on a basketball team where he averaged 22.7 points, 16 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per game. However, as time went by, he felt that he belonged in the NFL so he began joining some training courses while attending the University of Miami. He was then drafted by the Arizona Cardinals on 2008, however, he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. In January 2018, Calais recorded six combined tackles that led to their victory against the Buffalo Bills.

Chandler Jones, 28 – Defensive End
Chandler Jones belonged to one of the most influential families in the sports industry. His oldest brother Arthur is a former football player in the NFL while his other brother Jon Jones holds the light heavyweight championship belt in the UFC. Chandler was drafted by the New England Patriots, knowing that he would someday become big in the industry just like his brothers. He was then traded to the Arizona Cardinals where he managed to earn a lot of cash and made it easy for him to purchase his own luxury car and a nice house. In 2018, Chandler managed to have a total of 368 tackles and 77 sacks.

Ben Roethlisberger, 36 – Quarterback
Ben Roethlisberger stands out as one of the most efficient passers there is in the National Football League, currently ranked 9th in the All-time NFL passer rating with a 94 record. In his rookie years, Ben already established himself as one of the greats and earned the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. With all of his awards and recognition, at this point, Ben is likely to avoid bankruptcy in the future as long as he manages his fortune. At the age of 36, Ben isn’t showing any signs of slowing down in his game, and he has even led the league’s passing yards for the second time with 5,129.

Todd Gurley, 24 – Running Back
After graduating from the University of Georgia, Todd Gurley knew that he would eventually become one of the best running backs out there. He was then drafted by the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams in the 2015 NFL draft as their tenth overall pick. From that moment on, Todd has showcased his sheer talent. Upon entering the league, Todd rushed for 1,106 yards and became the Offensive Rookie of the Year. After earning 19 offensive touchdowns, all the training programs that he did finally pay off and he was crowned NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Jadeveon Clowney, 25 – Outside Linebacker
When Jadeveon Clowney was still young, he did not live in affluence, so he worked hard for everything. Jadeveon was already motivated to play football at the age of 13, as he stood 6’3′” with a big athletic body. So he did. Since then, Clowney started to wreak havoc in the field. Eventually, Jadeveon got drafted as the Houston Texans’ first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. From that moment on, he has proven himself to be one of the best outside linebackers at a very young age. Unfortunately, in December 2018, he illegally sacked Nick Foles, resulting in a fine of $40,110.

In his early life, Sean Lee did not expect that he would end up playing football. His passion was always playing basketball and he averaged 21.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists in his secondary school. However, when he set foot at Penn State University, he discovered a new passion and started to have his career training in becoming one of the greatest football players out there. He was then drafted in 2010 by the Dallas Cowboys, where he is playing until today. As of week nine of the 2018 season, Sean had already accumulated 695 total tackles.

Carson Wentz, 26 – Quarterback
Carson Wentz gained popularity after showcasing his skills while attending North Dakota State University with their team, winning five NCAA FCS national championships. When he was finally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson had already shown what he could do and even managed to have the most pass completions by a rookie. With all his training and workout, Carson went on and helped the Eagles win a Super Bowl title after a close game versus the New England Patriots. Sadly, Carson missed the Eagles’ first two games because he was recovering from an ACL injury.

Xavier Rhodes, 28 – Cornerback
While attending Florida State, Xavier Rhodes already made a name for himself for having an outstanding football career. Before even joining the National Football League, Xavier already has 14.71 ppg, pass efficiency defense of 95.43, and earned the Mr. Dependable Skill Award. Xavier watched his salary go up as he got drafted by the Minnesota Vikings, where he actively plays until today. In 2018, The Vikings were eliminated from participating in the playoffs after being defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Xavier was ranked 55th on the NFL‘s top 100 Players of 2018.

Earl Thomas, 29 – Free Safety
Earl Thomas started his professional career after being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2010 National Football League Draft. Since then, Earl would become a really big part of their team and later help them earn the team’s first ever Super Bowl Victory in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos. By now, Earl definitely has invested a lot in injury insurance after having a lot of major contusions in his time in the league, including his hamstring and shoulder injuries. Sadly, during a match against the Arizona Cardinals in 2018, Earl was carried out of the field after suffering from another lower leg injury.

Fletcher Cox, 28 – Defensive Tackle
Fletcher Cox gained popularity by becoming an outstanding defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles since the start of his career in 2012. Since then, Fletcher has been making money doing the thing he loves the most, excelling and maturing in the league pretty well. Fletcher managed to earn himself a lot of awards, including first-team All-American, first-team All-SEC, 3-time second-team All-Pro, and playing in the Pro Bowl for four consecutive years. In 2017, Fletcher received his first ever Super Bowl Ring after the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl LII.

Cameron Jordan began playing football in high school, where he received All-State honors and was listed as one of the strongest defensive ends of 2007. However, Cameron was also an astonishing track and field athlete who once became a top performer in his state. Since he was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 2011, Cameron’s career has improved over the years. He even managed to earn himself a first-team All-Pro, second-team All-Pro and played in the Pro Bowl. In December 2017, Cameron was once again selected for the 2018 Pro Bowl, making it his third selection in his career.

Khalil Mack was once considered to be the phenom when he was still in college playing for the Buffalo Bulls, having the most sacks of 28.5 and 75 for the most tackles for loss. Eventually, Khalil got drafted by the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League in 2014. A year later, he already made it to the first-team All-Pro as a defensive end and an outside linebacker. Even though he was having an outstanding career with the Oakland Raiders, coach Jon Gruden decided to trade him to Chicago Bears and was offered a $141-million contract.

Known for having a prolific play style, David DeCastro stood out as one of the best prospective guards when he was still at Stanford University. David knew that in order for him to be drafted in the National Football League, he needed to work harder than anyone else, and he did so, too – which earned him All-American honors after he finally got drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012. David is nimble, despite the fact that he weighs more than he should. In 2018, all of his training finally paid off as he earned his spot in the Pro Bowl for the fourth time.
