Kal-El Coppola Cage – Nicolas Cage and Alice Kim

There have been many Disney-themed names here—Nicholas Cage, however, chose to go another route and name his son Kal-El. For those that are familiar with the comics (or with Zac Snyder’s rendition of “Justice League”), Kal-El is the original Kryptonian name of Superman.

Cage has starred in iconic roles in “Ghost Rider,” “National Treasure,” and “Uncut Gems.” Kal-El, like his father, has gone the acting route and voiced a superhero in the “Teen Titans: Go” movie. Unfortunately, it was young Bruce Wayne (the billionaire who is Batman) and not the Daily Planet journalist Clark Kent (who takes off his glasses to become Superman) that he played in the film.

X Æ A-Xii Musk – Elon Musk and Grimes

Elon Musk did cause a lot of internet conjecture when he announced via Twitter that his son with musician Grimes would be named X Æ A-12 Musk. However, because California law does not allow any numerical in names, the Tesla executive had to change the name to X Æ A-Xii.

Breaking the name down, Grimes explained that X stands for “the unknown variable.” The term Æ was the elven spelling of AI, a word that had a dual meaning. First as artificial intelligence and the other as “love” in Japanese. A-Xii (formerly A-12) is named after an aircraft that has great speed but no weapons; hence it is “non-violent.”

Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran – Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn

The “Thinking Out Loud” hitmaker Ed Sheeran confessed that he always wanted a unique name for his child. His wife Cherry Seaborn’s name is unique to the point where she has not met anyone with the name Cherry. Sheeran said he had kids named Ed in his class. So in search of rarity, they settled on Lyra.

Antarctica was chosen because Sheeran and Seaborn visited the secluded icy continent in 2019 before she conceived. The “Joker and The Queen” singer said the visit was “incredible.” Sheeran has said that he would love to have more kids, and they’ll probably also have names as unique as his first child’s.

Royalty Brown – Chris Brown and Nia Guzman

Chris Brown’s beloved daughter has a name truly fit for a princess. Royalty Brown was born May 24, 2014, and has changed the musician’s life ever since. His seventh studio album was called Royalty after his daughter, and one of the tracks, “Little More (Royalty),” is dedicated to her.

Brown possibly could not have had a hand in naming his daughter because he only discovered her existence when she was nine months old. The name Royalty, meaning regal, was probably chosen by her mother, Nia Guzman. However, he has happily embraced the role of a father and now shares a close bond with his daughter, who is often featured on his social media.

Atlas Noa Babel – Shay Mitchell and Matte Babel

Shay Mitchell, of “Pretty Little Liars” fame, welcomed a baby daughter with long-time partner Matte Babel. She announced her newborn daughter’s name a few weeks after giving birth to her and the name is pretty travel-inspired.

As soon as Mitchell heard “Atlas” she looked at her partner and they both just knew it was the perfect name. Malti Marie Chopra Jonas – Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra

The two global stars had wed in 2018, in a fusion Hindu-Christian, East meets West, marital bonanza. Their daughter was born 12 weeks premature and had to spend some time in the NICU but came home soon after.

She was named Malti Marie Chopra-Jonas. The name “Malti” comes from Priyanka’s mother’s full name Madhumalti. Malti itself is a Sanskrit word that means little flower. The Marie in her name could be biblical, as Nick’s father was previously associated with the church, but it is said it could be a reference to Nick’s mother, whose middle name is also Marie.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden had different journeys to parenthood. After treatments failed, the couple used a surrogate and were very happy to finally have a daughter. Announcing her arrival —and her name Raddix—on January 3, 2020, the couple said they were going to ensure her privacy.

Her name is creative and made up but holds emotional value. “Rad,” meaning awesome, is a word that the family uses a lot. The name is also a translation of an unknown language that means “new beginnings.” This is apt for the couple who had to struggle a lot to have a child. In the words of Madden and Diaz, she is truly “rad.”

Elsie Otter Pechenik – Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik

Zooey Deschanel might have separated from her ex-husband Jacob Pechenik, but they still share a daughter. Their daughter, Elsie Otter, was born in late July 2020 in Texas. The “New Girl” star explained she and Pechenik liked the name Elsie, but Otter was put there because of a wholesome reason.

Otters are community water creatures and “sweet” and “smart,” Deschanel explained on the Today show. She went on to give out many details about the “wonderful” animals; they hold hands, so they don’t drift away while sleeping, and they also use tools. Rose is a huge fan of the musician, posting pictures of him across her social media and praising him for his solo in the ballad “November Rain.” To her, Slash is the “G.O.A.T” (an acronym for Greatest of All Time) so it made sense for her to name her son after the guitarist.

Blue Ivy Carter -Beyoncé and Jay-Z

With two musical stars as her mom and dad, there was considerable (and understandable) interest around Blue Ivy. Beyonce announced she was having a baby after she was done performing at the 2011 MTV VMA awards. When Blue Ivy was born, “Single Ladies” hitmaker entered into a trademark battle for her name.

So, where does her name come from? Fans believe it comes from Rebecca Solnit’s novel ‘A Field Guide to Getting Lost’ after the “Irreplaceable” singer posted an excerpt from it to her Tumblr. In those lines, Solnit describes blue as the “beauty of the world.” And Ivy? Well, it includes IV, the Roman numerical for the number four, which holds value for the power couple.

The first name is one that many that grew up watching Disney moves might be familiar with. Esmeralda is the name of the Roma character in “Hunchback of Notre Dame.” It is also a reference to emeralds, a type of precious gem. Of course, the well-read actor duo did not choose the name because of the movie but instead was inspired by Victor Hugo’s novel, on which the movie is based.

Named Kulture Kiari, her second name pays homage to her father, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus. And Kulture, as Cardi explained in her unique way on Twitter, was the one because anything else would have been “basic.” Before she was named after her father, Kulture was going to be named after Cardi’s sister Hennessey. She was to be called “HennyLynn,” but evidently, that did not happen.

Stormi Webster – Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

Kylie Jenner threw the world into a rumble when it was revealed that she was a mother. Having kept her pregnancy a secret, the fashion icon announced the arrival of her daughter in a post that is the second most-liked post on Instagram (after a picture of an egg, of course).

The reality tv star chose “Stormi” for her daughter because that is what she called her unborn child while she was pregnant. Other considerations for the name included Rose. She believes that children pick their names themselves. Originally Storm, it was changed to Stormi because the reality star likes an “ee” sound at the end of names—as you could guess from hers.

Ocean King PenaVega – Alexa PenaVega and Carlos PenaVega

“Spy Kids” star Alexa PenaVega had already decided on the name of her son even before she had given birth. When she put up a picture of her ultrasound, fans were quick to note she had referred to the fetus in the sonogram as “Ocean King.” Her husband Carlos PenaVega had shared the picture on his Instagram and captioned it with anchor emojis.

The name has biblical roots, as Alexa explained in detail in her post. The caption offered commentary on how God named water the “seas” and how that was “good.” In the caption, she refers to her child as the son of the one true “King” and while she didn’t elaborate on what this means, we’re certain it’s something special.

The name, in Hebrew, means “song” and is spiritually a reflection of where the billionaire couple was at that point in their relationship (Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021.) According to a source, West reads the Psalms a lot, even though it is the longest book in the Bible, considering it to have it full of wisdom. Interestingly, the Grammy award-winning producer also conducted biblical music sessions in the time leading to his son’s birth.

A blood moon is a total lunar eclipse where the Earth is in line with the sun’s and moon’s planes. The Earth’s shadow falls on the moon, thus forming an eclipse. Tiegen said she had a love for “space” and had attended and thought the name was “perfect” for her daughter.
