Kristin Davis – Then

‘SATC’ ruled the entertainment world for many years with its strong female leads. Kristin Davis from remains of the most popular stars from the show whose character Charlotte York will forever remain attached to her name. The performer had previously worked with the showrunner Darren Star on ‘Melrose Place’ for two seasons before Darren finally bought the rights to the ‘SATC’ book.
Kristin worked on the acclaimed ‘HBO’ show for all its six seasons and became a fan favorite as a character in the city trying to navigate her career, friendships and love life. She even got nominated for an Emmy in the year 2004 for The Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her brilliant performance.
Kristin Davis – Now

After ‘SATC’ Kristin Davis continued her journey in Hollywood with many more roles coming her way. She starred in the comedy movie ‘Bad Teacher’ and later even voiced the titular character on ‘Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends.’ She also appeared in other films, including ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Holiday in the Wild’ and ‘Couples Retreat.’
Little did Kristin know, she had something even bigger coming her way and it finally came to pass when she made her debut on Broadway in 2012. Kristin even ventured across the pond to West End when she appeared in the original production of ‘Fatal Attraction.’ As of 2021, ‘HBO’ confirmed that the star would reunite with the girls for a ‘SATC’ revival.
Cynthia Nixon – Then

Before joining the cast of ‘SATC,’ Cynthia Nixon had some minor credits to her name, but she was already a seasoned Broadway actress, which worked out for her. Cynthia played Miranda Hobbes for the show’s entire duration spanning six long years of her career. Suffice to say, the star left her mark on Miranda Hobbes’ character and it’s almost impossible to imagine ‘SATC’ without her.
For her exceptional performance in ‘SATC’ as Miranda Hobbes, she was also awarded an Emmy for the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004. The last season aired in 2004 and taking an Emmy home for all those years of stellar performances felt like the perfect farewell for Nixon.
Cynthia Nixon – Now

After signing off from ‘SATC’ Cynthia did not go off the grid from Hollywood. She continued her journey there and found success with shows like ‘The Big C.’ The great news for all her fans is that the charismatic performer has confirmed her appearance in the mini-series revival of ‘SATC.’
Along with a career in showbiz, Cynthia also dabbled in politics; She ran for governor of New York in 2018 but unfortunately lost to Andrew Cuomo. Still, Cynthia’s campaign generated more than enough buzz as she brought to the front numerous important issues, including universal health care and wage inequality.
Chris Noth – Then

One of the most debated topics on the show was the relationship between Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big. Whether the two belonged with each other or not soon turned into a hot debate between ‘SATC’ fans. With that said, the fact that Mr. Big (played by Chris Noth) was fundamental to the series remains a popular opinion.
Chris played the deviously handsome on-again and off-again lover of Carrie Bradshaw for the show’s entire run. He cultivated a fan base for himself throughout that time and became one of the most popular love interest leads from ‘SATC.’ Tall, fair and remarkably handsome, it’s easy to see why Chris garnered such an incredible fanbase that’s loyal to him even today.
Chris Noth – Now

‘S** and the City’ ended up becoming a TV staple for many of us, and that includes all the drama of Carrie and Mr. Big’s on-again, off-again relationship. So when Chris Noth, the star behind Mr. Big, announced that he would join the rest of the crew for the reboot, we all celebrated in excitement.
The show’s revival news aside, what’s Chris been doing since the series ended? The striking leading man is now the father of two boys and has been married to Tara Lynn Wilson since 2012. He’s also appeared in shows like ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ and ‘The Good Wife,’ along with gaining co-ownership of The Cutting Room music venue as a side business.
John Corbett – Then

You might know John Corbett as the strikingly handsome Aidan Shaw from ‘SATC,’ but did you know he started his career as a country singer?
Since he was seven, Corbett has been playing guitar and got raised by parents who worked at a music club. He went through his fair share of struggles before his big break, even working as a hairdresser and later, a minor actor in commercials.
John got his first significant role as Louis in ‘The Wonder Years,’ and the offers kept coming from there. Before being cast by ‘HBO,’ he got nominated for the Golden Globes for his work in ‘Northern Exposure.’ Then came ‘SATC,’ and the rest, as they say, is history.
John Corbett – Now

Since the end of ‘S** and the City’ in 2003, John Corbett has certainly kept busy. You might know him from his role as Ian, the male lead in ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding,’ or even as Max from ‘The United States of Tara.’
John has even found an outlet for his early interest in country music! His self-titled debut album came out in 2006, and he went on tour to promote it shortly after. His second country album was released in 2013 to rave reviews. Moreover, John’s family life has also been bustling- he married long-time girlfriend Bo Derek in 2020, and the couple now lives together on their ranch in California.
Evan Handler – Then

Our beloved Harry Goldenblatt is returning for the reboot of ‘SATC,’ and we could not be happier! Fun fact: Evan Handler, who plays Harry, is formally educated in acting from none other than the Juilliard School. He has had more than his fair share of significant roles, and Harry is just another feather in his cap.
Evan came from humble beginnings and was born in New York. Before he got cast in ‘SATC,’ he was well known in the New York theatre circuit and had starred in the Broadway play ‘I Hate Hamlet.’ He also appeared in movies like ‘Ransom’ and ‘Chosen’ before ‘HBO’ scooped him up and made him a globally beloved star.
Evan Handler – Now

Our Harry Goldenblatt has not stopped once since ‘SATC’ stopped airing. Before we get excited about his return for the reboot, we need to talk about everything he’s done since- it seems like Evan Handler is just as driven in life as his on-screen counterpart!
Evan returned to the screen many times, most notably as Charlie Runkle in ‘Californication.’ He’s also an author and has written two books about his experiences with medical issues and his journey towards gratitude and Evan writes regularly for ‘The Huffington Post’ as a contributor. One the home front, this talented performer is a proud dad and has been married to Elisa Atti since 2003; Now that’s what you call a well-rounded modern-day gentleman!
David Eigenberg – Then

He is probably best known for playing the role of Steve Brady in the ‘HBO’ television series’ S** and The City.’ David Eigenberg embodied the character with such perfection that avid fans of the show wish to see the actor reprise his role someday. This could be because, despite the on and off on-screen romance with the character Miranda Hobbes, Brady was a perfect depiction of a boyfriend and later husband.
Interestingly enough, growing up, this well-versed actor did not have an acting background. After graduating high school, Eigenberg enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He got honorably discharged after a service of three years which was when he embarked on his showbiz career.
David Eigenberg – Now

Moving on after the ‘SATC’ show ended, David Eigenberg joined the cast of ‘Chicago Fire’ as the high-ranking firefighter Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann. Because he is such a talented performer, he portrayed this character perfectly like many roles that the actor has played before.
There is cause for excitement because Eigenberg is among the cast members who were called upon to reprise their roles in a reboot of the television series in 2020. Just like the adoring husband part he played, the jolly man gushed about co-star and on-TV wife Miranda Hobbs, played by Cynthia Nixon. We can’t wait to see them together again.
Jason Lewis – Then

He has long-running credits in film and television appearances, but audiences know him well as the character Jerry “Smith” Jerrod from the HBO series ‘S** and The City.’ The character arc from the show, coincidentally, reflected perfectly on the performer in real life as an actor who became a big star.
Among the great works that Lewis has appeared in are ‘Midnight, Texas’ and ‘CSI: Cr**e Scene Investigation.’ Before gracing our screens with his off-the-charts performances, he started making a name for himself through modeling after college. The charming and handsome man has done well playing the roles assigned to him from the moment he debuted on ‘High Sierra Search and Rescue.’
Jason Lewis – Now

With a career spanning from 1994, Jason Lewis has had quite the success in the roles that he has played. Notably, playing Jerry “Smith” Jerrod in SATC was more memorable, especially the interactions with Samantha. He, however, will not be making a comeback in the ‘And Just Like That’- the ‘S** and the City’ reboot, which makes sense because Samantha will not be coming back either.
Jason is now actively back on the modeling path that he took as a younger man. Lewis made a name for himself, strutting for big names like Gucci. We are excited to see him back on the runway again because the spotlight is befitting for this accomplished actor.
Mario Cantone – Then

The bubbly and out-going character of Anthony Marentino in the popular HBO show ‘S** and the City’ is well-loved by the audience. The role of a gay wedding planner who gave speedy and funny advice is not a favorite for nothing. It may appear like the series is what made him famous; however, Cantone had a flourishing Broadway career before taking on the project.
Before the iconic appearance in the hit show, the Tony Award nominee was a regular in comedic shows such as ‘Comedy Central’ roasts of Joan Rivers. No doubt that the humorous trope that we enjoyed in SATC came naturally to the gifted actor.
Sarah Jessica Parker – Then

The epitome of the greatest female character on American television is Sarah Jessica Parker playing the role of Carrie Bradshaw on HBO’s hit television series “S** and the City.’ The renowned actress and producer did so spectacularly that she won two Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
Her stars were set to shine brightly from the very start having debuted on Broadway at the tender age of 11. From then onwards, it was big film appearances for the charming Parker. Her heart and soul are quite evident in all that she puts effort into. To top it all up, her fashion sense is impeccable, something that shows in the characters she plays.
Sarah Jessica Parker – Now

Carrie Bradshaw made a household name out of Sarah Jessica Parker. One of the greatest female characters in American television, the role won her an array of acting credits, from the Emmys up to the Golden Globes. Moreover, even after the hit’ S** and the City’ wrapped up, Parker continues to captivate the worldwide audience in significant film and tv roles.
Following the success of SATC, Parker faced an influx of acting projects. Her first film in years, ‘First Wives Club’ in 2005, was a huge commercial success. Acing almost every role, she made headlines again in 2016 for her work in the HBO series ‘Divorce.’ Furthermore, the filming of the SATC revival brought back our fashionable NY besties.
Kim Cattrall – Then

If there’s anyone who gave Parker’s character a run for her money in ‘S** and the City, that would be Kim Cattrall’s sultry executive role as Samantha Jones. But, downright honest as she was, her masterful portrayal made us believe that the right guy is just an illusion.
An American Academy of Dramatic Arts graduate, Kim’s first acting job was in the ‘Rosebud’ thriller in 1975. She finished the decade with numerous TV appearances in ‘The Ba**ard’ and ‘The Incredible Hulk.’ Her small-screen experience transitioned well in cinemas in the 80s, capturing a part in the ‘Tribute’ Oscar-nominated film. However, oddly enough, it was still on television Kim cemented her mark in the industry, landing her breakthrough role in SATC.
Kim Cattrall –Now

It’s hard to imagine life after ‘S** and the City. After all, the popular series created mainstream triumph for everyone in the cast. Yet, Kim Cattrall successfully moved on from the show that put her on the map.
Kim must’ve had enough after six seasons on television. Eventually, the actress behind Samantha Jone’s first jolly was towards the big screen and theater. Between 2005 and 2006, she appeared in ‘Ice Princess’ and the London’ West End’ production, which received rave reviews. Honored in the same year by Glamour with a Woman of the Year award, she burned even brighter. The Emmy winner’s latest challenge is Fox’s drama ‘Fifty Rich,’ going back to her roots.
Kyle Maclachlan – Then

Before Kyle Maclachlan got tangled in ‘S** and the City,’ the 80’s pretty boy was already a talent in the world’s brightest stage, Hollywood. The one-time husband of Charlotte York may not be the main male character in the SATC bunch, but Kyle is that guy -the one backed with a Golden Globe best actor’s trophy.
The summer of 1981 proved life-challenging for the college sophomore, starring in three leading roles at Old Lyrics Repertory Theater. The TV veteran’s cinematic debut took almost three years, winning a part in the epic sci-fi film ‘Dune.’ After that, a career fueled with adversities, Kyle finally gained momentum when he landed a role in ‘Twin Peaks,’ praised with an acting award.
Kyle Maclachlan – Now

Short yet unforgettable, Kyle Maclachlan’s reoccurring role in the popular steamy series’ S** and the City’ remains untouchable among fans. Though Charlotte York’s one-time partner has long since moved on from his most famous role, he still harbors success away from SATC paradise.
What better way to break from his earlier fame than getting cast as Orson Hodge in another series hit ‘Desperate Housewives?’ Following his popularity, the award-winning actor graced motion pictures, including 2008’s star-studded ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ and voiced Pixar’s ‘Inside Out.’ Amidst it all, Kyle stayed true to television, taking part in MCU’s TV experience ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.l.D.’ On his days off, the SACT alumni pursue his interest in wine.
Frances Sternhagen – Then

Born in 1930, Frances Hussey Sternhagen is an incredible actress known for playing Bunny Macdougal on ‘SATC.’ She began her career as a teacher but soon found her love for Broadway and became an actress. Once she began acting, she never turned back.

She voiced the title character in ‘Dolores,’ a novel by the widely beloved author Stephen King. The gifted actress continues to enthrall her fans in every new project she partakes in.
Ben Weber – Then

Even before he appeared on the legendary show ‘SATC,’ Ben Weber had made a name for himself thanks to his acting prowess. Beginning his career as Stanley on ‘Twister,’ Weber started making a name for himself in the film and TV show industry. Following these projects, his big break came when he portrayed Skipper Johnston on ‘SATC.’
On the show, he played the role of a website creator, who was quirky and unusual. He was interested in the iconic Miranda but had his heart broken by her. Fans found his character adorable and wished he was on the show for more than one season.
Ben Weber – Now

Ben Weber’s vastly successful appearance on the first season of the show ‘SATC’ flung him into the limelight. Since he played the loveable and goofy Skipper Johnston, audiences found themselves instantly smitten by him. For his acting skills, Ben received praise from fans and critics alike.
After he left the acclaimed show, the talented actor appeared in varied roles on numerous TV productions and movies. These include the likes of ‘Law & Order,’ ‘ER,’ and ‘The West Wing,’ which were legendary in their own right. In 2017, Ben played the role of Andy Genelli in the popular web series ‘Manhunt: Unabomber,’ where he once again proved his onscreen prowess.
Ron Livingston – Then

Handsome, charming, talented, and kind, there are endless adjectives to describe Ron Livingston. An actor by profession, he started his career playing insignificant roles in movies. His first big break came in 1999 when he starred in the film ‘Office Space,’ which gave him much deserved attention.
Following this, he portrayed the character of Jack Berger on the popular show ‘SATC.’ Jack was hilarious and attractive, making audiences fall in love with him almost instantly. Although his departure from the show after only eight episodes left many fans feeling disappointed, Jack’s appearance on the hit ‘HBO’ series gave his career a strong push in the right direction!
Ron Livingston – Now

Every fan of the iconic show’ S** and the City’ would never forget the worst boyfriend in history, Jack Berger, played by Ron Livingston, who ended things via a post-it note. Before Livingston’s appearance as Jack on the record-making television series, he was already popularly known for his role in the hit 1999 film ‘Office Space.’
After his short but impressive time on ‘SATC, Ron took on various roles, putting his acting skills on full display, from one film or TV show to another, and there has been no dull moment in his career. When he is not on set, the star, who is happily married with children, enjoys spending quality time with his family.
James Remar – Then

James Remar rose to fame for his portrayal of Ajax’s historically violent character in the 1979 film ‘The Warriors’, and fans loved him more as the formidable Albert Ganz in ’48 hrs.’ His rugged but charming look was a great combo for the villain roles he played, making Remar a much sought-after actor.
James wowed ‘SATC’ fans when he played Samantha’s rich, charismatic boyfriend, Richard Wright, in season 4 – a role which was in stark contrast to what James has become known for. Still, television audiences were astonished by his acting prowess and looked forward to more dynamically different acts by the star from then on.
James Remar – Now

After leaving the cast of ‘SATC,’ James Remar has done quite well with his career by being on shows like ‘Dexter’ where he played Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father. After being the charming playboy and Samantha’s love interest in ‘SATC’ for four long years, James started to get noticed for his good looks and charm.
Following that successful run, he also did voice-overs in advertisements for Lexus luxury cars while landing prominent roles in movies like ‘Pineapple Express’ and ‘X-Men: First Class’ and even playing two different characters in ‘Django Unchained.’ Judging by these works, it seems certain James’ career remains on an upward trajectory even long after the end of ‘SATC.’
Mikhail Baryshnikov – Then

While working at the American Ballet Theater in the ’70s, Mikhail Baryshnikov would rub shoulders with the who is who of the entertainment industry, resulting in an offer to star in PBS’s ‘Wolf Trap.’ One role eventually led to another, and in 1976, this performer scored his first Emmy nomination.
By the time Baryshnikov was taking on the role of Aleksandr Petrovsky on ‘SATC,’ he was already a star in his own right with a commanding on-screen presence that quickly made him a fan favorite on the show. As great a performer as Mikhail is, we weren’t fans of his character on the comedy-drama series; nothing appealing about a person with poor communication skills!
Mikhail Baryshnikov – Now

Mikhail Baryshnikov may have more than 30 film credits under his name, but it’s his portrayal of ‘Aleksandr Petrovsky’ on ‘SATC’ that most fans credit as his best work yet, and the actor couldn’t agree more. To him, the role on the comedy-drama series, despite being minor, cemented him as a versatile performer.
Baryshnikov, a ‘New York University’ degree Honorary, continues to work on various TV, film, and stage productions while mentoring up-and-coming dancers and choreographers. Even in his seventies, the actor stays booked and hardly gets any time off, and that to Mikhail is a blessing he doesn’t take for granted.
Blair Underwood – Then

Many of Blair Underwood’s fans got convinced that he was a real-life doctor after his portrayal of Dr. Robert Leeds on ‘SATC’ despite only appearing on four of the show’s episodes. If you’re one of those who thought that this performer is also a physician, no, he isn’t, but that just shows how good of an actor Blair actually is.
In less than a decade after his debut on 1985’s film ‘Krush Groove,’ Underwood had become a household name with several shows on multiple leading networks airing concurrently. So it was no surprise that the thespian’s name was on the ‘TV Guides Magazines’ list of the Most Influential Faces of the ’90s.
Blair Underwood – Now

Blair Underwood has already achieved more than what most entertainers can attain throughout their lifetime. We’re talking about five NAACP Image Awards, a Daytime Emmy and a Grammy; what more could one ever ask for?
After his brief stint on ‘SATC,’ Underwood co-authored a novel, ‘Casanegra’ and lent his voice to an 89-hour long audiobook, both of which were unfamiliar territories to this star, but then again, just the challenge Blair needed to be a better performer. Even after spending most of his life traveling for press tours and on set shooting, Underwood, who is now in his fifties, isn’t ready to slow down, and thankfully, his partner and three children understand that and remain supportive as ever.
Kat Dennings – Then

Kat Dennings may have only guest-starred on ‘S** And The City’, but she did leave her mark and had fans wanting more of her incredible talent. Only a handful of actors can pride themselves in being an instant hit with their first performance. Yet for Dennings, who was only 15 at the time of her first on-screen role, charming an audience seemed like a piece of cake.
Right after the episode that Dennings got featured on aired, she received a call with an offer to appear on ‘Raising Dad’ for a main character’s role. Now that’s how you make a first good impression.
Kat Dennings – Now

More than a decade after Kat Dennings had made her debut as a performer on ‘SATC’; she finally got what many felt was long-overdue recognition as the best actress at the Crystal Reeds Awards. If you have watched any of this star’s performances, you’d understand why Kat’s fans were worked up about her not getting an award earlier on in her career.
In addition to acting, Dennings is also a content creator with a self-titled blog and online video channel, through which she shares details about her personal life, interests, and struggles. If you ask us, she’s a smart one; engaging with fans in such a relatable way will certainly only increase Kat’s popularity.
John Slattery – Then

Growing up, John Slattery wanted to be a baseball player, and while that did not happen, this actor is glad things didn’t go his way. Slattery was on ‘Dirty Dozen’ before he decided to venture into stage acting for the sake of improving his facial expressions.
It took a short time for this celebrity to make a name for himself ‘Off-Broadway,’ which would later make it easy to score roles on popular TV shows such as ‘Law & Order,’ ‘Desperate Housewives,’ and later HBO’s, ‘SATC.’ Slattery considers getting out of his comfort zone and performing to a live audience as one of the best career moves he ever made and we agree with him.
John Slattery – Now

Even after more than two decades of acting, John Slattery still gets excited about going to work and playing someone other than himself. The ‘Mad Men’ star prides himself in having an impressively long list of acting credits after his brief stint on ‘SATC,’ five Primetime Emmy nominations, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Now that he has accomplished everything he ever wanted to as an actor, John is seeking to expand his horizons, which is why he has ventured into script-writing and directing. That, though, doesn’t mean that you will not be seeing him on your screens anymore; this star promises to keep performing for as long as he can.
Bridget Moynahan – Then

Before she got a chance to play Natasha Naginsky on ‘S** And The City’, Bridget Moynahan was a commercial model with an impressive portfolio that included spreads on leading high fashion beauty and lifestyle magazines such as ‘Vogue’ and ‘Elle.’ Yet even such significant accomplishments for a woman in her early twenties weren’t enough to make Moynahan arrogant.
Contrary to what her director and castmates on the comedy-drama series expected, this beauty was always kind and gracious to everyone while on set and would easily take instruction, making her very easy to work and get along with. So even with just a guest role on the show, Bridget made quite the impression on her fellow stars.
Bridget Moynahan – Now

Here’s one thing that directors who have worked with Bridget Moynahan commend her for; she takes every role she plays, big or small, seriously. This beauty will still learn her lines even if they’re just two, practice before her scenes, and arrive on set early, just as she would for a major role. No wonder Bridget, even in her fifties, still gets called in for parts she believes others would be more qualified for.
While she might still be trying to get her footing in the TV world, Moynahan is a certified star in the film industry, with more than 20 acting credits under her belt. You can watch her on ‘Blue Bloods,’ where the star delivers non-stop scene-stealing performances.
Mario Cantone – Now
We all love a jolly good story, especially if it involves one of our beloved characters Anthony Marentino in ‘S** and The City,’ played by Mario Cantone. Being such a comedic can make it a little difficult to establish when the actor is being serious. However, his advocacy for LGBTQ rights is quite apt, and we love him for it.
The American actor, singer, and Broadway performer is married to his partner of over two decades, Jerry Dixon. Their union is undoubtedly made in heaven with their career paths crossing, especially because one is a performer and the other is a musical theater director. We adore Cantone’s humor and hope to see more on our screens in the future.
